Swan Boats

We had a beautiful day for our trip into Boston!  We saw the State House, walked through Louisburg Square, walked down Charles Street, crossed into the Public Garden, rode on the Swan Boats, and enjoyed a picnic lunch.  We want to give a special thank you to Mrs. Gray, Mrs. DiMarzo, Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Boldezar, Ms. Cronin, Mr. Piazza, Mr. Shannon, and Mr. Pazzia for coming with us!

Completed 3D Map of Boston Commons

The students worked hard all week to complete our 3D map of the Boston Commons area that we will be walking around on our Make Way for Ducklings field trip next week!  It includes the State House, Louisburg Square, a playground, the Freedom Trail, the pond where we will ride the Swan Boats, stop signs and so much more!  We can't wait to see the real thing next week!

Clay Birds

We have been learning all sorts of neat facts about birds.  The students used what they have learned about birds to make clay birds, similar to those of illustrator Barbara Reid.

Middlesex Fells Nature Hike

We had a beautiful day for our nature hike to the Middlesex Fells.  The students seemed fascinated by all the creatures and plants we observed.  We saw endangered lady slippers (pink flowers), turtles, a giant bull frog, insects, spiders, caterpillars, birds, and so much more!  It was really exciting to see how excited the students were!

Listening Walk

We went on a listening walk this afternoon and were amazed at how many things we could hear near our school in such a short amount of time.  I encouraged the students to go on a listening walk with their families too!  I would love to hear about all they heard!
